Mission: The Communications and Marketing Committee supports the mission, goals, and programs of the River East Emerging Leaders (r.e.e.l.) organization through the ongoing development of effective communications strategies to the public and oversees the implementation of these strategies.

Duties of the Communications Committee are to:

• Provide direction, set priorities, and devise strategies for the promotion of the River East Emerging Leaders (r.e.e.l.) interests and activities
• Represent the organization to the community and continuously enhance the organization's image
• Work with committees or bodies organized and recognize by r.e.e.l. to develop methods for timely identifying and distribution of articles, reports, meetings and conference information, awards, and other activities that are appropriate for promotion to the public
• Coordinate with members of the media through news releases on r.e.e.l.—related events and activities
• Discover and recommend new opportun ities and technologies to enhance internal and external communications
• Organize, when appropriate, a symposium at the annual meeting on communications strategies or mechanisms that would be of interest to r.e.e.l members and the community
• Review r.e.e.l.’s communications program annually and provide appropriate recommendations to the Board of Directors
