Mission: The Bylaws and Resolutions Committee is responsible for drafting and establishing the articles of organization for the River East Emerging Leaders (r.e.e.l.) organization as prescribed by Federal and District of Columbia law. The committee is further charged with the establishment of the organization’s 501(c) 3 Federal and local tax-exemption status.  The committee shall respond to requests by the Board of Directors, the President, the membership, or on its own initiative to:

• Study problems concerning the organization’s bylaws
• Interpret bylaw questions and implement solutions to bylaws-related problems
• Initiate calls for bylaws amendments. The committee receives input from the membership, the committee itself, or the Board of Directors
• Bring forth proposed resolutions for action by the membership

The committee shall maintain an official text of the bylaws incorporating all changes as adopted by the membership and shall verify as correct all published texts of the bylaws.
